Maryland Lynching Victims

Truth and Reconciliation Project

The Maryland Lynching Truth and Reconciliation Commission is investigating the more than forty Marylanders lynched in this state between 1854 and 1933. None of the perpetrators of these crimes was ever brought to justice. The Commission is trying to uncover the facts surrounding these crimes in order to give the affected families and communities a sense of closure and help commemorate the victims of these terrorist acts.

If you are or have knowledge of someone who may be related to one of the victims, please complete the form at the bottom of this page.
